PROPERTY OVERVIEW

Famed for its wonderful climate, low living costs, and areas of outstanding natural beauty, Portugal continues to be one of the most desirable places across Europe to be.  On offer here is a unique opportunity to make a smart investment into this beautiful part of the world with this brand-new luxury villa project.

Located in Lourinhã, a municipality in the district of Lisbon (roughly 1 hour north of the city), the villas are set for completion by the end of 2022, meaning that now is the time to grab a bargain deal on this exciting project.  The complex will be known as Ocean Villas, with each villa costing a minimum of €500,000 (to qualify for the Golden Visa investment program) and featuring a vast array of fabulous features such as 4 bedrooms, circulation area, kitchen, dining room, living room, private annex and communal swimming pool.

Thanks to their ideal location, these properties not only offer buyers a potentially wonderful, spacious and comfortable place to live themselves, but is also a smart investment into the ever-growing Portuguese holiday rental market.   This market is going through a golden age right now thanks to the emergence of direct rental sites such as Airbnb and booking.com and Portugal continues to be one of the most popular areas for tourism across the world.  The properties are perfectly positioned to be close enough to shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the breath-taking beaches (roughly 2.5km) and areas of outstanding natural beauty that make this part of the world so magical.

The villas are perfectly positioned to be close enough to both, shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the breath-taking beaches that make this part of the world so enchanting.  Lourinhã is not only a stunning place in its own right but is also a great base from which to explore the many other fantastic places Portugal has to offer such as Lisbon, Setubal, Porto and of course the famous Algarve.

One other huge attraction in the holiday rental and residential markets is the fact the area is surrounded by countless sports and leisure opportunities such as the many nearby walking, cycling, water sports and fishing areas.  Golf fans will also feel right at home with many excellent courses nearby including Guardian Bom Sucesso Golf and Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort.  No discussion on sports in the Lisbon district would be complete without mentioning the fact that the city hosts two of the most iconic clubs in world football in Benfica and Sporting Lisbon, who compete in the Portuguese Super League, the home stadiums of both clubs are less than 50 mins away from the property.

The area is also very well-connected transport wise both locally, by road and an extensive rail network, and internationally with Lisbon Portela Airport just 60km away, this is of course yet another huge plus point in the context of the holiday rental/commuter markets.  Being so close to the coast, Lourinhã is also widely accessible by boat thanks to its proximity to the coast.

ABOUT THE AREA

Lourinhã is a municipality in the District of Lisbon, in the Oeste Subregion of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 25,735,[1] in an area of 147.17 km². The seat of the municipality is the town of Lourinhã, with a population of 8,800 inhabitants.

In the 16th century, the Franciscan monastery of Santo António (1598) and a Misericórdia Church and Charity (1586) were founded in Lourinhã. The Misericórdia (Mercy), a religious charity, now houses a museum with outstanding Renaissance paintings. The most important paintings are by the hand of a mysterious early 16th-century painter, dubbed the Master of Lourinhã (Mestre da Lourinhã).  Starting at the end of the 19th century, the infrastructure of the municipality was modernised with roads, canalised water and electric light, as well as improvements in the educational system. The economy depended mostly on agriculture and fishing. Tourism is an increasingly important source of revenue, due to the municipality's extensive, picturesque beaches and, more recently, by the paleontological remains, which include fossilised bones, footprints, eggs and even embryos from Jurassic dinosaurs. Many of which can be seen nowadays at the local museum, Museu da Lourinhã.

Lourinhã, is one of the few brandy-making areas, besides Cognac, Armagnac and Jerez, that have received appellation status.

WIDER LISBON AREA

Seven cinematic hillsides overlooking the Rio Tejo cradle Lisbon's postcard-perfect panorama of cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white-domed cathedrals – a captivating scene crafted over centuries.

Dining in Lisbon is far more dynamic than navigating countless preparations of Portugal's beloved bacalhau (dried and salted cod fish; 365 recipes and counting!). While bacalhau à Brás (shredded cod with onions, eggs and potatoes; a Bairro Alto original) is never far, Lisbon's strategic seaside position on Europe's doorstep means a bounty of fresh seafood (octopus, tuna, monkfish, shrimp, sardines, clams, snails) rules the city's kitchens, from Michelin-starred restaurants to gourmet-food markets to countless corner tascas (taverns). Top-grade Alentejan beef beckons with juicy steaks and gourmet burgers, and you'll find everything from tantalising Indian curries to authentic Moroccan couscous in between.

Cheap alcohol and the absence of open-container laws means Lisbon loves a night on the town! Don't be fooled by Bairro's Alto's sleepy daytime feel – by night, these narrow-cobbled lanes transform into one of Europe's most raucous drinking locales. Student dives, traditional fado houses, upscale wine bars and tourist hot spots merrily coexist among the muddled mess. In Cais do Sodré, Pink Street and environs are home to some of the city's classic nightclubs and rowdiest cocktail bars, while trendier megaclubs stretch along the waterfront from Santos to Santa Apolónia. Last call? Sunrise!

Lisbon's trademark seven hills are spread across the cityscape like lofty guardians of colour and history. Capped by a collection of terraces known as miradouros (viewpoints), a must-see web of no-filter-necessary views over Lisbon, the Tejo and beyond is formed. Our favourite miradouros – Portas do Sol, São Pedro de Alcântara, da Graça, da Senhora do Monte, Santa Luzia and, of course, Castelo de São Jorge – all offer stunning spots to get your bearings and while away afternoons over bica (espresso), elegant glasses of Touriga Nacional or refreshing pitchers of sangria, while enjoying the city's stupendous horizons.
