Cortijo las Higueras is set midway between the market town of Villanueva de Algaidas and Iznajar in the small hamlet of La Parilla. It is a substantial, character property with two rental properties and the main house which the owners occupy. There are two bar/restaurants in the hamlet and a real community feel with a community association. A country setting yet not isolated which gives the benefits of access off tarmac, mains drainage, water, electricity, wifi and good telephone and internet connections at reasonable rates.

Cortijo las Higueras is a charming home and part of a friendly, rural community in the heart of olive country – 1hr inland from Malaga city and famous for Hojiblanca olive oil. The property has a rural setting but enjoys being included within the hamlet of La Parilla, a hamlet on the outskirts of the bustling small town of Villanueva de Algaidas.

Access is excellent – off a small, well maintained, tarmac country track that passes in front of the property on the way to a few more properties. This gives easy access to the property with no need for 4 x 4 vehicles for yourself or guests (with only a few cars passing every hour or so). Services are good too with mains drainage and reliable broadband internet at reasonable prices.

Being part of the community is made easy as there are two bar/restaurants within strolling distance. They serve simple, home-cooked meals and tapas at very reasonable prices. There are ferias and fiestas throughout the year and many ways to get involved and join in with local activities. A school bus collects and returns children to and from Vva. de Algaidas for the schools.

The property has a warm and welcoming feel and would make a wonderful family home or it can continue to be run as the successful holiday cottage business it currently is. The pool is reached from every part of the property separately. There is no need for the owners or guests to be disturbed by each other as they go to the pool


Mature gardens:

The gardens have been lovingly planted and maintained by the current owners. All the plants are indigenous and pretty much look after themselves for low maintenance. They provide not only colour all year round but privacy also

An automated irrigation system is installed


Parking areas:

Space for three cars in front of the main house with separate access for all parts of the property – main house, La Casita and Casa Limon

Parking places for 2 cars at the end of the property beyond the pool area

Behind the property, and again, beyond the pool is space for the parking of another vehicle


The current business

The self-catering holiday cottage business requires some administrative work and change overs between guests but the self-catering nature keeps work to the minimum. Immediate income is available as the business is being sold as a going concern.

The current owners are open and honest people and are happy to sit down with any potential buyers to go through accounts and share information. All the contents of the self-catering cottages are included in the purchase price as are the website and any future bookings already made plus repeat clients who return year-on-year. It takes approx. 1hr to drive into the city.

Granada city and the Alhambra Palace is approx 45mins by car.

Granada/Sierra Nevada Ski Resort is approx. 50mins by car.


Airports

Malaga airport is approx. 1hr away by car and it has a relatively new additional runway connecting Malaga to all over the world via budget and longer haul airlines

Granada airport is approx. 45mins by car but has a more limited selection of flights

Sevilla airport is now a Ryanair hub and has a wide selection of flights available. Approx. 1.5hrs by car

High speed train (AVE):

Available from Antequera and Malaga, whisking you in the ‘blink of an eye’ to Cordoba, Sevilla, Granada (line currently under construction to Granada but due to open shortly) and beyond.
