This street is very important because its houses were built on the Muslim wall and following the round layout of the wall. 


The wall was destroyed in the early 19th century to make more space for expansion as the walls were 1.8 meters wide. All the current houses on Vicente Forner Tichell were built in the early 19th century. 


The archaeological excavations found that under the houses of Vicente Forner Tichell and Forn de la Vila are: remnants of structures and, fortifications. The backs of the current houses cover the foundations of the wall and the front of the present houses cover the remains of the medieval houses.

Grand entrance

An impressive set of beautiful “mobile” wooden doors open to an entry way with vaulted ceilings, walls lined in marble and terrazzo floors.

To the right of the entrance are a set of very tall doors opening to a waiting room. Separating the entry way from the main living area is a set of floor to ceiling sliding wooden doors with glass.


Dining room

A large room with vaulted ceilings, terrazzo floors and marble walls with double wooden doors and glass windows to enter living room and “Patio de Luz.” and the “Grand Staircase.


Living room

Doors open to a spacious living room with a marble fireplace surround, a wood burning stove and a large window covered with wrought iron looking into the” Patio de Luz.”


Kitchen and Pantry

Both rooms are accessed through a set of wooden doors with glass windows from the living room. The Grand staircase continues to another level to the roof terrace. At the top, there is a large skylight. From this level you exit out to a massive area which would make a wonderful and impressive garden and covered patio. There are views of the “Town Center,” the Basilica, The Bell tower, and on a clear day the beaches and the Mediterranean.


Burriana


Burriana is a nice size and a very friendly “city” with a population of around 35,000 people.  It is located 12 kilometers from Castellon, 30 kilometers from Sagunto and a 45-50 minute drive to Valencia.


Burriana has a glorious coastline, of 11kilometers and located just 1.5 kilometers from the center of town; a short 15 minute walk. There are 3 beaches, “El Arenal”, “Beach of the Malarrosa” and “Playa del Grau.” The beaches have a “Blue Flag”qualification with high standards and environmentally pro-active. The beaches have a reputation of having relatively quiet beaches, where you can kick back and relax. Burriana offers wonderful weather throughout the year. Even the winter months are mild.


The beaches offer many activities in which everyone can partake and enjoy. There is a sailing school, scuba diving and snorkeling lessons, wind surfing classes, horseback riding, hiking and walking trails and biking trails. The town Hall even has bicycles for tourists to use at “NO CHARGE.” 


A very special place at the “Playa del Grau” is a natural park called The “Clot de la Mare de deu.” It is a park that has the combination of water and forest together Beautiful for walking.

There are many wonderful restaurants, bars, walkways, a promenade and a Sunday market on the beach just to name a few.

Carbona Tower-constructed in the 13th century

Tower of the Sea- constructed in 1547. It was a watchtower.

The Bacilica – Church of the Savior. The church was commissioned by King James I in 1233 to celebrate the conquest of Valencia and many other historical churches.

Burriana Bell Tower-originally erected in 1363 as a fortified tower. It was destroyed  on July 5ht 1938 during the Spanish Civil War. It was reconstructed in 1942.
