San Miguel de Salinas is a town and municipality in the Valencian Community, situated in the south of the province of Alicante, in the comarca of Vega Baja del Segura.

Located between Torrevieja and Murcia, San Miguel de Salinas is the highest town in the comarca. Its area (54 km2) descends from the mountain with many streams and gullies leading to the plain, known as El Llano, where the salt lakes are found. Local roads connect the town with Orihuela, Bigastro, Torrevieja and other towns in the area. From Alicante and Cartagena, the town can be accessed via motoway then the CV-940 and CV-941.

Well served by two airports, Alicante 40 minutes and Murcia, St Javier, 25 minutes' drive away, it is the ideal spot to take advantage of the cheap flights from the UK. The new Murcia airport at Cordova is due to be finished shortly. Numerous Blue flag beaches can be reached within 10 minutes' drive, or a bus service is available from the town for those who do not drive.

The village of San Miguel de Salinas sits on a hill above the pink Laguna de Torrevieja and offers impressive views over the countryside to this working lake with its salt piles. It is a quaint inland village with a traditional church square, town hall, tourist office, the Las Cuevas cave houses, a main high street, band stand, a municipal open air swimming pool for use during the summer and a busy street market every Wednesday morning.

San Miguel de Salinas has a great deal to offer the discerning buyer.
