Here we provide up to date information on who's Buying and Where?

Many of the popular buying spots attract a wealth of multi lingual investors from the UK, America, Russia, China and Scandinavian markets. This mix of buyers are at the high end and are buying in the likes of Lake Garda and the cosmopolitan cities. Demand for Rural property has turned away from turnkey properties and is now aimed at renovation projects.

What is happening the property market in Italy ?

The market in Italy is still on a slow and steady increase and unlike Spain and Portugal it has allot of catching up to do. Italian Estate agents are reporting a wealth of overseas investment for 2016 from the likes of Russia and the UK buyer is now coming back onto the market with the weak euro.

For many years the world was watching the culture of Venice and Lake Como and buying property in these regions but in 2016 patterns are showing its the less well known regions of Italy that have been attracting the overseas property investors.

“The market is definitely better than last year,” reports Linda Travella of long-established Casa Travella (casatravella.com).” Recently I was inundated with requests and viewings for a €140,000 nicely converted two-bedroom barn near Bagni di Lucca [Tuscany] and it sold for the asking price.”

There is very strong interest in 2016 from the Tuscany area where you can buy a excellent property from as little as €150,000. Farmhouses in this region that are well finished seem to be in the most demand and are very affordable.

If you are looking to buy in the regions of Volterra budgets normally start around the €300,000 mark buyers also still want the Italian lakes and prices tend to start around €400,000 in this region. Puglia in the southern region will attract overseas property investors at the low and mid end of the market in 2016

For the bargain hunters you can pick up properties in Abruzzo for as little as €50,000, or for the more savvy investor Sardinia, Marche and Liguria will be a big draw to buy Italian property in 2016
